Original Acetate Of Bruce’s First Single “Baby I” Performed and Recorded In May 1966:
Bruce tells the story that he and his band mates actually wrote these 2 songs “Baby I” and “That’s What You Get”, on the way to Mr. Music at the Brick Mall Shopping Center. This test pressing was recorded on May 18, 1966, (7) copies were made and only (4) have survived. Of these (4) Bruce acquired (2) for himself and only (2 ) remained on the open market. The owner of the other copy is a complete mystery, this acetate has been the only one offered for sale during the past 11 years. It is even autographed and inscribed by Bruce himself recognizing this acetate as his very first record. The first recording of any legendary performer is always highly significant and valued greatly. Elvis’ first acetate sold a few years ago for over $350,000. Although Bruce is not the “King Of Rock N Roll”, “the boss” does command the respect and admiration of millions of fans from all over the globe. This artifact was displayed on exhibit at the Rock Hall Of Fame for over 3 years.
